How often do you train by yourself? Talk is cheap - go do the work. These guys put in 100 hours in a few months, of ripping around alone, grooving in the boat. Getting to the top in junior sailing can be as easy as filling your head with a coach’s advice, but if you want to make it beyond the youth levels you need to own your learning process. 3420 days until Long Beach 2028. Grooving on a Monday. Once you master the mechanics, the next step is letting go of the rigid learning structure, and feeling what the boat needs: a second earlier on the trim? A touch more float on the sheet? More leeward heel to keep the trim carving? Develop the sixth sense for what the boat needs and trust the feel.
