The Process

We believe that the pursuit of mastery on the water has far reaching implications for confidence and awareness in every aspect of a waterman's life.  We love the ocean, and we want to help others pursue mastery, while respecting the ocean where we play.  Since 2011, we have been developing a process for improvement with the goal of producing results on the race course.

Our Mission

Through our work with junior sailors over the last several years, we have developed a process for learning, which has resulted in top results at many major international events.  By rooting this process in an appreciation for the importance of ocean stewardship, we are creating the next generation of elite level, responsible sailors.

How It Works

Though we might give hints and tricks along the way, we do not focus on teaching sailors how to execute good techniques, or how to tune their boats properly.  Instead, our coaching team's focus is on developing understanding of underlying principles, training habits, and confidence in intuitive reactions.  Ultimately, this focus produces an extremely effective process for experimentation and learning.

We believe that there are many different ways to achieve high performance, but the key to success by any route lies in understanding why techniques are working, and using that understanding to build on other skills.  Through this process of experimentation, members of the McBride Racing training programs learn to support each other in discovering new tricks and techniques in every practice.
