Where: Santa Barbara Yacht Club
When: November 14-15
Cost: $400/team for the weekend
Registration Deadline: 12:00pm Sunday, November 1st

Description: With the explosion of sport boats, and in particular J70s in the last few years, there has been a rush to learn a new set of skills ranging from asymmetric angles and tactics, to boat handling in a light weight keel boat.  This clinic will feature lots of one on one attention with a team-to-coach ratio of no more than 5:1, and will use video footage to help teams optimize their crew work in the boat.  Debrief topics and drills will be tailored to each individual team, but the preliminary plan is to focus on boat handling on Saturday, and apply that boat handling to racing tactics and execution on Sunday.  A post-clinic debrief will be sent out with video, photos and written discussion of the weekend.

Possible Coaches:
Willie McBride, and possibly others depending on the number of signups.

Travel:
Santa Barbara Harbor is 15 minutes south from the Santa Barbara Airport (SBA), or 1.5 hours north of Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).  The Santa Barbara Airbus (www.sbairbus.com) connects from LAX to Santa Barbara in about 2.5 hours.

Where: Cabrillo Beach Yacht Club
When: October 17-18
Cost: $250/team for the weekend
Registration Deadline: Oct. 7

Important note: Please do not park in the Yacht Club parking lot!  Instead, there is a parking area next to the boat yard, which is closer to where we will be based, and will be available for all guests to park in.

Possible Coaches:
Willie McBride, Dane Wilson, and possibly others

Travel:

Please do not park in the Yacht Club parking lot.  Instead, there is a parking area next to the boat yard, which will be available for all guests to park in.

Venue:
Cabrillo Beach is known as "Hurricane Gulch" for generally having the strongest wind in Southern California.  Wind in Cabrillo is generally a sea breeze, generated when inland deserts heat up, so the breeze is best from June to September.  We're hoping that the gulch will deliver for a last hurrah in October!

With El Nino conditions in full force, we could be in for some strange weather, so be sure to check the weather report before the weekend to figure out what gear to pack.
