Fall Tune Up Clinic
Where: Cabrillo Beach Yacht Club
When: October 17-18
Cost: $250/team for the weekend
Registration Deadline: Oct. 7
Description: This event is an open RSVP event. Our goal will be to have as many coaches on the water as possible (hence the higher price tag) to provide maximum support in the (hopefully) breezy conditions. With lots of personal attention for all teams, this will be a great way to tune up for the start of the Hamlin Series. To reserve a spot, please RSVP by sending an e mail with the subject: "Fall Tune Up RSVP" to 29erhighperformance@gmail.com. Registration will be open online shortly.
Important note: Please do not park in the Yacht Club parking lot! Instead, there is a parking area next to the boat yard, which is closer to where we will be based, and will be available for all guests to park in.
Possible Coaches:
Willie McBride, Dane Wilson, and possibly others
Travel:
Closest airport is the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), which is about 30 mintues north. We will be driving down from Santa Barbara on Friday, and may be able to help coordinate transport for sailors from LAX to the venue, and/or housing if arranged in advance.
Lodging:
Closest hotel is the San Pedro Doubletree by Hilton, though there are many other hotels in the not-too-distant area.
Local Knowledge:
Limited trailer parking is available near the CBYC boat yard. Please contact us to let us know that you plan to leave a trailer in the boat yard, and bring a tongue lock to lock the trailer up overnight.

Venue:
Cabrillo Beach is known as "Hurricane Gulch" for generally having the strongest wind in Southern California. Wind in Cabrillo is generally a sea breeze, generated when inland deserts heat up, so the breeze is best from June to September. We're hoping that the gulch will deliver for a last hurrah in October!
With El Nino conditions in full force, we could be in for some strange weather, so be sure to check the weather report before the weekend to figure out what gear to pack.
